Welcome back to another addition of Thursday’s 13.  Last week I brought you 13 of my favorite Christmas Songs so I think it only appropriate that I share with you some of my favorite Christmas Movies.  So here they are in no particular order:

    I liked five on your list: Miracle on 34th Street; Rudolph; A Christmas Story; Jacke Frost; and Dr. Seuss The Grinch. Please add "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" and Lampoon's "Christmas Vacation".
  • Santa Claus is coming to Town and Christmas Vacation are also great Christmas movies. I couldn't find the Santa Claus one on YouTube though.
  • I haven't read or seen the Polar Express, but I want to! It looks so beautiful. I think my son's read and seen in school. When i grew up in the 80's, we had VCR tapes of rudolph, mickey's christmas carol, and the stop animation little drummer boy, plus some show about these mice that fix a clock? And the nutcracker. always the nutcracker. I did ballet for a while. And the animated grinch. Those just make Christmas for me. :)
  • I would definitely recommend getting The Polar Express. It became a favorite in an instant. Enjoy the holidays!

  • Yes, The Grinch is a good one. I can't wait to see the new Christmas Carol with Jim Carrey.
  • We watch most, if not all, of these every year. I remember the Rankin Bass shows when I was a kid.
  • I have fond memories of laying on the floor watching them in stereo. I am so glad we can pass them on to our children.

    Anyway, i love Christmas movies: My favorites among the ones you mention--
    Rudolph, Santa Clause, White Christmas, Miracle on 34th Street... mmm, can't remember the others

    Scrooge!
    What A Wonderful Life
    March of the Wooden Soldiers (Laurel & Hardy)
    The Homecoming (The Waltons)

    Hi, yes, several of these are among my favorites: A Christmas Story, Polar Express,White Christmas, Miracle on 34th Street...I think there were some others too...Rudolph...my memory's going, LOL!

  • Great list! I'd add The Sound of Music to it. Not about Xmas, but always shown here at Xmas time for some reason.
